GDAIP is a 6 months remote working experience that gives members of our community a chance to develop their skills holistically. This includes design skills, remote working discipline, corporate culture adaptation, self supervision and development, resource management, etc. This opportunity is open to graduates of our 3 months intensive induction training who have shown competence in the basic understanding of Graphic Design.

The GDAIP Vision & Mission

Through this program we hope to position our members to secure long-term and lucrative job opportunities within the global value chain. And we are looking to establish partnerships with reputable organizations that have an online presence and require entry level designers to handle their most basic daily design needs.

The Scope of the Program

As a prospective partner, here’s what to expect from our partnership with your organization:

  1. Once you apply to become an intern and your application is approved, you will be posted to an organization to serve for a period of 6 months, to be replaced by another intern 3 months before your internship expires. You get to assist with onboarding the new intern that joins you.
  2. You will be working mostly with the Canva application. Canva is a mobile app and web-based versatile design platform with amazing features. Canva also makes it easy for you to collaborate on projects and transfer projects to new interns before your internship expires.
  3. Only designs related to the organization fall in your scope of work. You are at liberty to charge for any additional design requests because we want to ensure you aren’t overwhelmed beyond the focus of the program, and you are fairly compensated for additional responsibilities.
  4. This program is strictly for remote work so there’ll be no place for requesting your physical presence to resume work at any designated location. If you however wish to be retained as full staff after the program and wish to change the terms of work, that’s fine.
  5. During the internship program, you will be provide with stipends to augment your internet data monthly. This is estimated at N3,000 ($5) per month and is subject to your performance. You are responsible for managing your data and staying available online to carry out your tasks.
  6. Once your 6 months internship period is over, you will be issued a certificate of completion in collaboration with the organization you worked in. The end of the program defines the end of the organization’s responsibility and our responsibility towards you. You are advised to properly handover all designs and resources to the next intern taking after you before leaving.
  7. You will be attached to a supervisor who will be checking on you to assess your performance throughout the tenor of the program. You’ll be able to interact with this supervisor for guidance and for any complaints about the work where applicable.
  8. You will be required to sign and return a simple agreement form confirming that you accept the terms and conditions stated here and in the document at the point of registering to be an intern. Please download the terms and conditions here.
